With over 3,000 teaching hours, Jillian places heaviest emphasis on the correct posture of the rider (and thus their ability to communicate effectively with the horse), and safety in the saddle. There is a very low incident rate during lessons and has never been a serious or life threatening injury during her lessons, yet students still progress steadily with safety and fun in mind. She teaches Hunter/Jumper and lower-level Dressage. All of her students cross-train in these disciplines to increase their knowledge, experience, and general riding ability. Her riders learn how to develop a secure riding seat and how to sit a horse's gaits comfortably, while sitting tall and balanced in the saddle. She believes that thorough, balanced flatwork is the key to successful jumping, and instills these key elements in her riders while still encouraging some style of their own.
Private Lessons start at $50 and last for one hour. Cost may increase or decrease depending on driving distance or length of lesson. Jillian may shorten lessons (and decrease cost) if she feels hour lessons would be too strenuous on horse or rider.
Group Lessons start at $40 and last for one hour. Cost may increase or decrease depending on driving distance or length of lesson. Group lessons will remain one hour long to allow several riders to get enough practice and feedback from the instructor.
